This is a rebuttal/ response to XJ portal’s post on the 11th of January.
You are either rich or poor. There is no in between- Well, actually there is. Being in between is like being like me – A joke.
You can afford a Gucci. Yet, you return to an Ikea furnished home. You wear a Rolex but on the weekdays you can only afford to don a Giordano $10 tee. Some may argue that it’s these little bits of luxury items that comforts us, but I think it’s really humiliating to subscribe to that point of view. Buying small luxury items every once in a while only reaffirms our incesscent desires to lead a life of the rich and famous. We want it so much, we try so hard, but sadly, we just CANNOT make it. I call this big fat tier of people the middle class. Those who want to be rich but cannot make it. Sadly I’m in it. It doesn’t matter if you own 2 Gucci bags or half a Prada belt, if you cannot make it to the next tier, you’re stuck. It is almost like being in quicksand, the harder you try to get out of it the more ridiculous you look.
Well, at least I get by. I’m not a beggar. I can think. I can fight back. I have a chance to be happy. I am human. Every little bit as human the person in the class of the ultra rich.
